Hôtel de La Couronne, a story that begins in the 16th century !

It is probably difficult for you, sitting comfortably in front of your screen, to imagine that the history of this place began in the 16th century. Originally the buildings contained a post house, and already in those days, travellers and their mounts found refuge and warmth during their journeys.

Then it was the turn of some of the great families of the region, such as the Trimbach family, to acquire this place and transform it into a wine estate. Wooden barrels and bottles took their place in the vast cellar ... it is quite naturally there that 200 years later our bar has been installed, as a tribute to the past.

Finally, 150 years ago, a botany enthusiast undertook to transform the courtyard into an exotic garden, planting various species of trees from Africa and America. This is why, even today, one of the largest sequoias in the region and a few shoots of paulownias still majestically throne in the middle of our car park.
